So, you want your property in film?
How would you like to see your house or business on the big screen? Productions companies are always looking for diverse and unique locations. Our location library is their first stop in trying to find the right location. The production companies are looking for locations ranging from mansions to farmhouses, swanky nightclubs to hole-in-the-wall truck stops, vintage gas stations to international airports and just about every other conceivable location. If you are the owner or manager of an interesting property and you live in the Charlotte region, we would love to hear from you.
If you are interested in adding your property to our location library, the first step is to fill out our location submittal form. You may simply shoot a quick snapshot and mail it to us. Or if you're feeling a bit more ambitious, here are some suggestions on how to photograph your property:
1. Take photographs of both the exterior and interior of your house, business, or structure.
2. Try to obtain the widest angle view of your location. Once you shoot the front of your property, you will need to turn around and reverse the angle. It is important to show the entire area in which the location is situated. Producers want to know what other houses, buildings or scenery are next door. To shoot interiors of your location, position yourself in one corner of the room and take the picture, then go to the opposite corner of the room and shoot the reverse. You can shoot single pictures or panoramic photographs.
3. Remember to include interesting or unique features on your property. For example: waterfalls, gardens, swimming pools, nice views or vistas, barns, lakes, gazebos, large windows, staircases, high ceilings, wine cellars, fireplaces and any other interesting feature.
4. The photographs will only be used to give the production company an idea of what the property looks like. The photos do not need to be professionally shot.
5. When you send the photos to us please include the address of the property, and the contact person's name and phone numbers. You may email photos to us if you choose to shoot digital pictures.
If we need any additional information, or if a production company is interested in your property, we will contact you. Your pictures will be kept on file and sent out to production companies when we receive requests for similar locations. Please let us know if you have any questions. Good luck! |
